The City of Pismo Beach hereby announces the following expiring terms of appointive commissioners in 2010:
Conference & Visitors Bureau – (3) 2-year terms expiring 02/01/2012.
The CVB coordinates consumer promotions with radio, television, newspaper and magazine advertising, positioning Pismo Beach as a viable overnight and daytime destination. The CVB emphasizes overnight stays and increasing our leisure market into the off-season periods (Fall and Winter) and Sunday through Thursday business during the primary season. The CVB meets every 3rd Wednesday of every month at 3:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
Parking Advisory Committee – (2) 2-year terms expiring 02/01/2012
The Parking Advisory Committee act as an advisory committee to the City Council with respect to implementation of an overall Parking Management Program, act as a community forum to hear requests from the public regarding the operation and maintenance of downtown parking lots and programs; maintain adequate liaison with other committees, agencies and districts. The Parking Advisory Committee meets every 4th Wednesday of every month at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber.
Planning Commission – (2) 2-year terms expiring 02/01/2012
The Planning Commission is a body of local citizens empowered by the City Council to undertake the physical planning function for the City of Pismo Beach. These responsibilities are delegated under the provisions of the California Government Code and City of Pismo Beach Municipal Code. The Planning Commission meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
Traffic Safety Advisory Committee- (1) 1-year term expires 02/01/2011
The Parking Committee is an advisory board to the Traffic Safety Committee. The TSAC evaluates traffic and roadway complaints and concerns within the City limits of Pismo Beach. The Traffic Safety Advisory Committee meets every 1st Tuesday of every month at 11:00 a.m. in the Administration Conference Room.
The members of the City’s appointive commissioners serve at the pleasure of the City Council.
The City Clerk keeps commission applications on file for at least one year in the event there is a vacancy during the year.
Applications for volunteer service on any of the City’s appointive commissions may be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 760 Mattie Road, Pismo Beach, CA 93449, by calling 773-4657 or on the City’s website at www.pismobeach.org/documents. An application has also been included in this issue for your convenience. Deadline to submit application to the City Clerk’s Office is December 31, 2009.
